Analytics, royalties & payouts

In this lesson you will learn: Analytics (streams, trends, audience signals) vs revenue vs payout: three lenses. Where splits show up and how to reconcile surprises. Statements, cycles, and when to ask support with evidence.

**Analytics** in the app is your **performance** view: how releases and tracks move over time—streams, engagement patterns, and related signals you use to steer **promotion** and **collaboration** decisions. **Royalties** and **payouts** are the **money** side: gross, fees, net, and timing depend on **DSP reporting cycles** and your **plan**. Artists live in **streams**; accountants live in **cash**—read the labels on each screen instead of assuming one number equals another.

Read the money trail

Separate **trend charts** from **payout balances**—they update on different clocks.. Verify **split percentages** in the product before the money leaves; fixing metadata is cheaper than fixing relationships.. Export or screenshot **statements** when something looks off—support tickets move faster with **dates**, **release IDs**, and **territory**.

Industry snapshot

Streaming pools move with **subscription mix** and **territory**; per-stream averages are illustrative, not contractual.. US mechanical administration (e.g. The MLC for eligible digital) sits **alongside** your master-side distributor view—don’t conflate the two.
